MahaDBT Scholarship – Social Justice and Special Assistance Department (SJSA)
The Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance (SJSA) provides 5 different scholarships through the MahaDBT portal. The Directorate of Higher Education (DHE) is an important part of the Government of Maharashtra which offers 13 distinct MahaDBT scholarships for students of Maharashtra. Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Maharashtra State is a highly acclaimed and flexible higher education institution which looks after the individual, institutional and socio-developmental needs of the people of Maharashtra. DTE Scholarship includes two MahaDBT scholarship schemes namely, Rajarshi Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj Shikshan Shulkh Shishyavrutti Yojna and Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Vasatigruh Nirvah Bhatta Yojna.

MahaDBT Scholarship – Application Process
Aaple Sarkar DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) is a unique portal of the Government of Maharashtra, through which the applicants can apply for DTE Scholarships. This portal helps Maharashtrian citizens avail benefits of various scholarship schemes available on it.
Please note: Having an Aadhaar number is a mandatory requirement to apply for any scholarship scheme through the Aaple Sarkar DBT portal.
The applicants must be well aware of all the application-related requirements prior to filling up the scholarship form. Look into the step-by-step instructions on how to apply for scholarships on Aaple Sarkar DBT portal:
Step 1: Visit the homepage of the Aaple Sarkar DBT Portal
Step 2: Click on the scholarship you want to apply for – “Post Matric Scholarship”. Now, click on “New Applicant Registration” to register yourself
Step 3: Provide the required information and register
Step 4: Verify your email ID and mobile number to complete the registration.
Step 5: Click on ‘Get OTP for Email ID Verification’ for email verification and ‘Get OTP for Mobile Number Verification’ for mobile number verification
Please note: Both email ID and mobile number verification is mandatory
Step 6: Once registered successfully, log in using the registered email ID and password
Step 7: After a successful login attempt, provide the information of Aadhaar number and proceed
Step 8: Authenticate your Aadhaar number.
There are two types of authentication available:
- OTP – If the applicant’s mobile number is registered with Aadhaar, then they can choose authentication type – OTP
- Biometric – If the mobile number is not registered with Aadhaar, they can choose the authentication type as Biometric
Note: Here we have proceeded with the OTP authentication process
Step 9: Enter the Aadhaar number and click on the “Send OTP” button. The system validates the aadhaar number and sends the system generated “OTP” to the registered mobile number.
Step 10: Enter the OTP and click on the “OK” button. After the successful OTP verification, the applicant details fetched from UIDAI will be auto-populated in the personal details, address details, bank details etc.
Step 11: The applicants will be able to see the dashboard with available scholarships listed on it
Step 12: Select the scholarship you want to apply for and click on the “Apply” button to start a new application
Step 13: Complete the profile by providing all necessary information
Step 14: Once the profile is updated, go to the “All Schemes” section and search for the MahaDBT scholarship you would like to apply under the departments in the MahaDBT portal
Step 15: A list of suggested MahaDBT scholarship schemes will appear. Select the scholarship to apply for
Step 16: An application form will appear. Fill in all necessary details and upload all supporting documents (if not already uploaded)
Step 17: Finally, submit the application
